Bilaspur will soon boost of an AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) hospital as the central government has finally approved the project of setting up an AIIMS hospital in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The new AIIMS will come up at Kothipura, a village in District Bilaspur and the construction is expected to begin soon.
The land for the construction of the hospital has been en-marked and has already been approved by all authorized government bodies. Central government team also visited the site to check the location, ease of travel and the total area available. After a final report from the visiting team, it was announced that AIIMS Bilaspur will be set up on 200 acres of land some of which falls on one side of the main road and some on the other side. All the land en-marked for AIIMS in Bilaspur district belongs to Himachal government and no private land is involved. So, there would be no obstacles in transferring the land for the construction of AIIMS at the proposed site in Bilaspur.
How will AIIMS Bilaspur help Himachal:
JOBS: With new AIIMS coming up at Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, several new jobs would be created which would benefit youth from nearby areas. A hospital like AIIMS does not only require doctors, nurses and other medical staff, but it would require skilled people who do not belong to the medical line.
STUDENT ADMISSIONS: It would be easy for students from Himachal Pradesh who wish to pursue medical courses as an AIIMS would be available in their own state. There will be no need to go to Delhi, Chandigarh or other areas for medical studies as the best hospital of India would be available in Bilaspur.
PATIENT TREATMENT: This new AIIMS at Bilaspur will be a boon to the people of Himachal Pradesh. As of now, patients have to come down to Chandigarh as that is the only nearby city which has the best hospitals. It is expected that the rush of patients at PGI will also see some relief with this new AIIMS at Bilaspur.
