Bomb Blast in Haryana Roadways Sonipat to Chandigarh Bus at Pipli

A bomb blasted off in a Haryana Roadways bus while it was on its way from Sonipat to Chandigarh. The incident took place while the bus was on the road and was moving at a decent speed near Pipli, a small town in Kurukshetra district of Haryana. News sources confirmed that over 9 people were injured by the bomb blast. However, there was no loss of life.

Roadways = Haryana Roadways.

Route = Sonipat to Chandigarh.

Registration Number of the Bus = HR 69 B 6340.

Number of passengers in the bus = 25.

Bus Depot = Sonipat.

Location where Bomb Blasted = On the Delhi – Chandigarh Highway. 1 Km from Pipli, District Kurukshetra, Haryana.

As soon as the bomb blasted, the driver of the bus was able to bring the bus to a halt. Passengers in the bus rushed out but the damage had been done by that time. The driver and the conductor of the bus were also injured in the blast. Police reached the spot and all injured persons were admitted to Pipli or Kurukshetra civil hospital.

It was a Planned Bomb Blast

According to sources, the bomb was placed in a bag which was deliberately kept inside the bus just like normal luggage. A time based trigger was used to explode the bomb which is said to be a crude bomb. A similar bomb blast took place in a train at Panipat railway station few days back. The police is working on the case and it seems that the same outfit is responsible for both these bomb blasts in Haryana.

Forensic lab experts had been called to the bomb blast spot to collect samples from the Haryana Roadways bus. No terror link has been announced so far.
