NCERT’s e-Pathshala Launched in Chandigarh Govt. Schools | Students To Learn Through e-Books

The education system in Chandigarh is making progress by leaps and bounds. A new project by the name e-pathshala has been launched in government schools of the city which will help students read NCERT books from tab and mobile phone. Launched by the UT education department, e-pathshala project is a joint venture of Union ministry of human resource development (MHRD) and NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) under the sarv shiksha abiyan.

Pilot project has been launched in Chandigarh and over 10 government schools have been finalized. The process has alreadt started at these 10 government schools in Chandigarh.

Schools where e-pathshala has been initiated:

Although numerous schools in Chandigarh use technology to teach their students, even government schools are catching up with new methods of teaching. Here’s a list of 10 government schools in Chandigarh where e-pathshala project is live.

1) GMSSS, Sector 37-B

2) GMSSS, Sector 44

3) GMSSS, Raipur Khurd

4) GMSSS, Behlana

5) GMHS, Sector 7-C

6) GMHS, Sector 41

7) GMHS, Sector 45-C

8) GMHS, Dhanas

9) GMHS, Manimajra

10) GHS, Sector 54

 E-Pathshala Project Details

These 10 schools have been given 8 tabs each and teachers from these schools have been trained on how to impart training to students using tabs. NCERT books, audio and video guides have been made available on the tabs and teachers will be teaching students in small groups of 6 students each.

Another plus points of e-pathshala is that not just teachers, but even parents can access NCERT study material on their smartphones, tabs or desktops.

The project has been launched as a pilot project but is soon expected to be rolled out in other government schools of Chandigarh as well. It will help underprivileged students and at the same time will create an interest among students to learn through audio, video by using tabs and mobile phones.
