GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh Ranked 10th Best College in India | Gets 100 Seats

GMCH 32 Chandigarh also known as Government Medical College and Hospital has been ranked as the 10th best medical college in India. The news has not just brought cheers to medical students of the city but has also given Chandigarh a moment of pride. The ranking comes from a renowned and leading educational magazine ‘Career 360 Degree’. The 10th best rank for GMCH in India is also special as it has given Chandigarh medical college its long-due recognition as a world-class institution.

Apart from the ranking, a total of 100 seats have been announced for this year’s admission process at GMCH.

According to the  recommendations issued by Medical Council of India (MCI), the Health Ministry has approved the renewal of 100 seats this year, announced JP Nadda (the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare).  MP Kirron Kher thanked him for the approval.

The MCI (Medical Council of India) inspects the college every year and determines the number of available seats to be kept. Before 2013 the number of seats allotted for medical aspirants used to be 50. But the number of seats at GMCH Chandigarh were increased to 100 the subsequent year. Although this year speculations were made that MCI may bring down the number back to 50 considering the lack of facilities to accumulate this number. However the decision of keeping up with the number of seats came as a great news to aspiring doctors from Chandigarh.

The team of Chandigarh Metro wishes luck to all medical students who aspire to get a seat at GMCH Sector 32.
