Making an effort to boost Tourism in Himachal Pradesh, the state government has announced Kangana Ranaut as the brand ambassador for Himachal Tourism. Just as Amitabh Bacchan is the brand ambassador of Gujarat Tourism and Shahrukh Khan that for Kolkata, Himachal Tourism has finally got national award winning actress Kangana Ranaut as its brand ambassador.

Kangana on being announced as the brand ambassador of Himachal Tourism said that she has never hid her identity and has always been proud of being a Himachali. She added that she belongs to Bhambla Village near Hamirpur in Himchal Pradesh and always wanted to enter modelling and acting career.
Just as Amitabh Bacchan appears in advertisements of Gujarat Tourism featuring “Kuch Din Toh Gujariye Gujarat Mein”, Now it will be Kangana Ranaut who will be selling Himachal Tourism. Himachal Pradesh tourism department is all set to go big with new ad campaigns once all formalities for Kangana to be the brand ambassador of the state are cleared. This was announce by Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Board’s Vice Chairman, Mr. Vijai Singh Mankotia.
Himachal Tourism: What’s in Store?
With Kangana Ranaut as its official brand ambassador, Himachal Tourism has planned some new activities for the upcoming season. These include:
- An Apple Festival in Shimla & Manali
- Water Reservoirs will be developed as tourist destination
- A film city near Shimla
- Home Stay options in Apple Orchards
- Himalayan Mega Mart
- Himalayan Car Rally
- River Rafting
According to available stats, number of tourists coming to Himachal Pradesh in one year surpass the total population of the state. However, this number would increase considerably with air connectivity and other pending issues which are blamed for poor tourist response in the state.
Himachal Tourism officials say that Himachal is a better than Jammu & Kashmir as the state has no terrorism problem and even the interiors of Himachal are as beautiful as Kashmir. Let’s see if Kangana Ranaut will help get better tourist response to Himachal just the same way as Amitabh Bacchan has made a huge difference to Gujarat Tourism.
