Sukhna Lake Chandigarh gets 40 New Boats for Summer Rush

Sukhna lake, one of the best & most visited tourist spot in Chandigarh has got 40 new boats to ease out the huge rush for boating at the lake. If you have ever gone for boating at Sukhna Lake Chandigarh, you might have observed the long queue at the ticket counter during evening hours. The queue gets even longer on weekends when not just tourists from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh etc visit Sukhna Lake but Chandigarh residents go the lake for boating.

Boating at Sukhna Lake is being managed by CITCO and all the revenue earned directly goes to the Chandigarh Administration. However the 40 new boats at Sukhna Lake Chandigarh have been gifted to CITCO by The State Bank of Patiala.

State bank of patiala (SoB) celebrated its hundredth anniversary this year. To make this moment memorable State bank of Patiala donated 40 new pedal boats at Sukhna lake. The launching ceremony of new pedal boats was done in collaboration with Chandigarh Industrial And Tourism Development Corporation (CITCO).

With these 40 new pedal boats (2 seater and 4 seater both), tourists and local residents visiting Sukhna Lake might not have to wait for hours to get a ticket for boating. This will surely allow more number of people to enjoy the scenic beauty of Chandigarh and enjoy a boat ride at Sukhna Lake. Summers is the time when Sukhna Lake is full of activity. And new boats for the lake during this time is a great initiative.
