This 101 Year Old Woman From Chandigarh is Ready to Conquer World Masters Games

‘Age is just number’- 101 years old great grandmama, Mann Kaur from Chandigarh is the live example of the statement. Mann Kaur made the headlines last year when she won the world’s fastest centenarian at the American Masters Games in Vancouver.

But for her, this was not just enough she has a long way to go. For this year, she has been all set to shine in the World Master Games, that has been considered as the Olympics of Veterans to be held in Auckland in New Zealand from 21st April 2017. Mann Kaur is practising hard to win and make India proud in these games.

All About Mann Kaur

Mann Kaur has been introduced in the field of athletics in the year 2009 when she was at the age of 93. Just 2 years after she was introduced to athletics, she won the 100 meter and 200 meters in the national masters meet in the 90+ category. She started her journey on his son’s suggestion and won 20 medals in Masters Games across the globe.

Mann took almost a minute and a half to finish 100 metres and she was the only female competitor in her age group.

The secret of her health is no fried food, her day starts with a kefir glass and chapattis made of sprouted wheat.

And now Mann is all set to participate in World Master Games, that has been taking place in Auckland from April 21. Mann has set her goals and practising hard to win the competition. A total of 18000 people from 100 different countries of the World will be participating in the 28 disciplines in the games. Mann will be competing in 100m, 200, Javelin and Shot-put in the 100+ category.

From last 5 months, Mann and her 80-year-old son have been training in Punjabi University, Patiala. They also got a gym for the practice purpose in Patiala that has helped Mann to reduce 10 seconds in 100m.

A fix goal and hardwork will surely help Mann Kaur to win the upcoming competition. We wish her all the best and great health to have a healthy competition in her World Master Games.
