Recently the news flashed in Chandigarh, that the UIDAI that is Unique Identification Authority of India along with the Department of IT has expanded the Aadhaar services to the 12 new Sampark centres. The motto behind this change was the public convenience.
12 Sampark Centres in Chandigarh, Now to Offer Aadhaar Services
In total there are 42 Sampark centres in Chandigarh that are operating successfully. Out of these 42 Sampark Centres only 8 were dealing with the Aadhaar related services. In the light of recent announcements, 12 Sampark Centres were instructed to start the Aadhaar Services making a total of 20 Sampark centres in the city to deal with the Aadhaar services. This decision was taken by the unanimous consideration of both UIDAI that is Unique Identification Authority of India and India’s IT department after the procurement of the new enrollment kits.
The 20 Sampark Centres that are now going to avail Aadhaar Services include the Sampark Centres of Sectors 7,10,15,17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 27, 32, 35, 37, 40, 41, 43, 47, 48 along with the DC’s Office Sampark Kiosk, Industrial Area Phase 1 and Manimajra.
Aadhaar Card Services and Chandigarh
There are various Aadhaar card services that include the enrolment and updation fields. Although the enrollment for the Aadhaar card is free of cost the updating of the Aadhaar Card will cost Rs. 25. At these Sampark Centres you cannot only enroll for the Aadhaar Card but can also update the information mentioned in your Aadhaar cards like name, address, contact, photograph or full biometric updating.
Also, the residents of Chandigarh who are facing trouble in authenticating their Aadhaar card can now visit the nearest Sampark Centre to update the biometrics.
The enrolment for Aadhaar is free of cost, while residents have to pay ₹25 for any update in Aadhaar card information. According to the recent survey, the Aadhaar saturation in Chandigarh is 1005 that comprises the population of 11.62 lakh residents.
Followed by this announcement, the city residents can also get their Aadhaar card updated at the post offices in sectors 8, 9,10, 11, 12,14, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 26, 30, 31, 34, 35, 36, 43, 47 along with the post offices of Manimajra, Ram Darbar.
This decision of extending the Aadhaar Card services was taken for the convenience of the Chandigarh folks. Also, during the press announcement, the officials stated that this decision will be highly effective in increasing the convenience level for the women, old age people, and kids.
