Launch date of the Swift hatchback

According to reports, though the Hybrid variant of the Maruti Suzuki Swift has been spotted in India but the company has refrained from introducing the (Maruti) Suzuki Swift Hybrid in India. There are more than several reasons that Maruti Suzuki is retraining from introducing this model in India one of the major reasons being the GST roll out that has increased the prices of hybrid cars in India.

Hybrid cars have become costlier since the GST rollout as under the GST norms, 43 per cent tax will be levied on hybrid cars. This huge tax percentage will certainly make Suzuki Swift Hybrid more costlier for the Indian consumers. Another reason is the expensive technology that powers the Suzuki Swift Hybrid makes the car costlier than the petrol or diesel version of Maruti Suzuki Swift.

Despite the speculations, the new generation Suzuki Swift (Hatchback) is all set to make its Indian debut at the 2018 Auto Expo.
