A 23-Year Old Girl in Chandigarh Hang Herself to Commit Suicide | Here’s Why

A 23-year-old Chandigarh girl committed suicide by hanging herself in her own house. The victim has been identified as Neha who was a resident of Sector 29, Chandigarh and was pursuing a course in ITI, Panchkula. The incident took place when the deceased was alone at home on Sunday evening.

How did She commit suicide & Why

The girl took her life by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her room and has left a suicide note behind. In her suicide note, the victim has mentioned that she doesn’t wish to live more and wants to end up her life. She has also written that no one should be held responsible for her suicide.

On the day of the incident, when the girl did not come out of her room for several hours, her parents got curious to know of her whereabouts. Both mother and father of the girl went to her room and realized that inspite of their persistent knocking and calling of her name, the girl did not open the door. The parents of the victim then broke into her room and found her hanging from the ceiling fan.

Suicide case registered & investigation going on

The parents of the victim then rushed her to the hospital where she was declared brought dead. A report has been registered at the police station under the various sections of the IPC and the interrogation, in this case, is also going on. Victim’s body has been handed over to her family after performing an autopsy. The final report of the autopsy is yet to be declared by the hospital.

The parents and the ones close to her mentioned that the girl took this extreme step of ending her life as she was disturbed mentally and in depression took her life. Initially, it was rumored that the girl was playing the Blue Whale Challenge, the fatal online game due to which she committed suicide but no marks of cuts or self-harm have been found from the victim’s body.

The death toll in Chandigarh is increasing rapidly day by day and the UT administration along with the Health department together should do something to at least counsel the teens and the vulnerable by helping them to overcome depression. Talking to your parents and dear ones about the things that are disturbing you mentally are the vital thing to do as they can help you in overcoming all your fears.
