Chandigarh | 27-Year-Old Girl Alleges Rape By Hotel Taj’s Employee

Chandigarh’s one of the best five-star hotel’s employee raped a woman. Hotel Taj Sector 17 Chandigarh’s employee has been arrested by the Chandigarh police for raping a 27-year-old woman and also for stealing Rs. 23,000 from her room.

The employee raped the 27-year-old guest at his rented house in Sector 22 Chandigarh. The 27-year-old woman was in Chandigarh was an official trip, was putting up in Hotel Taj and wanted to celebrate her birthday in the city.

27-Year-Old Girl Raped in Chandigarh

The 27-year-old woman who was putting up in Hotel Taj was raped by an employee of the hotel. The woman’s Rs. 23,000 cash was also stolen from her room in the hotel on Tuesday. The hotel employee who was involved in the rape case has been identified as Sunny Kumar, a 29-year-old man who belongs to Himachal Pradesh.

The 27-year-old woman was here on an official trip and works with a reputed multinational company in Jaipur. However, the woman has refused to undergo a medical examination at GHSH, Sector 16 Chandigarh. The police have registered a case against Sunny Kumar at the Sector 17 Chandigarh police station under the Sections 376 (Rape) and Section 380 (Theft) of the Indian Penal Code. The police said that the woman had come to Chandigarh from Mussoorie and had booked a room at the Hotel Taj on May 15.

How The 27-Year-Old Woman Was Raped 

The 27-year-old woman said that she got in touch with Sunny Kumar when she checked in at the Hotel Taj. Sunny Kumar was a cook at the Taj Hotel. She said that it was her birthday and she wanted to celebrate her birthday. The woman along with Sunny went out after Sunny got free from his duty at around 12:30 am. The woman said that they both bought a cake from a shop in Sector 22 Chandigarh and later went to Sunny’s rented accommodation on his motorcycle. The woman was raped at his house in Sector 22 Chandigarh.

Woman Refuses To Undergo Medical Test 

The DSP said that Sunny dropped the woman at the main gate of the hotel Taj on Tuesday morning. When the woman went inside her room she found that Rs. 23,000 were missing from her bag and later lodged a complaint.

The SSP said that an FIR has been filed against Sunny. As per sources, the woman was rushed to the hospital but later she refused to undergo a medical test.
