30 IT Firms To Create 6,000 Jobs in Mohali Quark City & It Would Be Great

30 IT firms are believed to create 6,000 jobs in Mohali. After the US IT giant- Dell discontinued its international services operations about two years ago in Mohali Quark City the vicinity bore a deserted look. With the addition of a new building in Mohali’s Quark City the development seems to have picked up pace once again.

The new building in Mohali Quark City to house IT firms

It was reported that the new building in Mohali’s Quark City will house 30 IT firms. This expansion will open a gateway for more than 6,000 jobs in Mohali Quark City. The addition of another building on the 46-acre campus of Punjab’s first operational special economic zone (SEZ) for IT and IT-enabled services (ITES) sector will boost the information technology (IT) infrastructure in Mohali.

It was also reported that the chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh will lay the foundation stone of this new building soon. This move is also poised to cement Mohali as one of the preferred destinations for IT companies based out of India and international locations.

Specifications of the building

The new building in the Mohali Quark City will have seven-storeys which will be divided into two blocks. It was reported that the building will be constructed in three years. With total covered area of 4-lakh square feet and five floors dedicated to the office space this new building in the Mohali Quark City will house around 30 IT companies. These IT companies are believed to have a potential of creating 6,000 jobs. After Rajiv Gandhi IT Park in Chandigarh, Mohali’s IT City in Sector 83 is believed to be yet another potential zone in the region for big IT firms.

The transition

The city has witnessed a huge transition from the nascent stage till now. When the infrastructure started being constructed a decade back there were lesser resources in the city. It is believed that besides finding quality manpower, poor air connectivity to the place was another major reason due to which less IT companies were interested in investing in the Mohali Quark City. Over the years development has taken place gradually. With the Punjab government focusing more towards the development of the IT sector as a major trade, it is believed that Mohali will surely generate more jobs and business for country’s IT industry.
