One more incident added to “The Mishap Month” of Chandigarh area and this one comes from Mohali. A 32-year-old woman was raped by a man who was a tenant in the same house as that of the woman. The accused is said to be employed in a private company over here.
How Did The Incident Happen
The 32-year-old woman went to the second floor of the house to meet her friend around 11 PM last night. The tenant who has been charged with a rape case also lived in the same house on the first floor. He followed the woman and forcefully entered her room, locked the door from inside and raped her. The accused also assaulted the woman and threatened her with death if she narrated the incident to anyone.
Fearing the consequences, the woman did not tell anyone. But she somehow managed to talk about it with her friend.
After narrating the incident to her friend, they both reported the issue to the police. A medical examination was conducted and a report for rape was logged. The accused has been booked under Section 376 of IPC.
A strict action should be taken against the accused so that an example is set for all the people. Taking a strict action would create a fear in the mind of the people.
