Road Project in Himachal Pradesh has been recently approved by Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM (Prime Minister), Narendra Modi. With the reduction of travel time, travellers of Chandigarh- Manali will also get rid of traffic jams.
The project stretches from Pandon Bypass to Takoli section of NH-21. National Highway Authority of India has taken this progressive step by approving this much-awaited project that has a budget of 2776 crore and will promote easy travelling for residents as well as tourists visiting Himachal Pradesh.
Travel Chandigarh to Manali via Road in less time
It will benefit people to large extent as on completion of this project distance will be reduced by 38 kilometres and time-saving is estimated to be 3 hours.The Summer rush to hill stations will reduce due to this bifurcation. It is a positive indication as work on fifth sub-project has already started in Parwanoo which implies that project will be completed soon.

NHAI is also on the verge of execution of the four-laning of NH-22 from Parwanoo to Shimla (including Shimla Bypass). The length of this road is estimated to be 89.72 km and the expenditure will be above Rs 2700 crore.
