Chandigarh Shimla Daily Helicopter Service | Know Fare, Time & Details for this 25 Minutes Air Trip

A daily Chandigarh Shimla helicopter service is going to start soon. As per the report, a helicopter service from Chandigarh to Shimla is soon going to start from Chandigarh International Airport. The daily helicopter service will connect city beautiful – Chandigarh and queen of the hills – Shimla. The 25-minute air connectivity will shorten the journey between Chandigarh and Shimla besides making the travel an awe-inspiring experience.

It has been reported that a Chandigarh Shimla Daily Helicopter Service will connect the two cities. State capital Shimla is a mecca for tourists who throng the valley during the summer season to witness the scenic beauty and snow-clad mountains.

As per the report, there is currently no air connectivity between Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh state capital Shimla. A private operator had started air connective services between Shimla and Chandigarh earlier but the service had to be discontinued. With the discontinuation of the air service between Chandigarh and Shimla, passengers, as well as tourists, had to travel to the HP state capital by road from Chandigarh making their tour a little tiresome.

City beautiful Chandigarh is all set to get connected via daily helicopter service to the queen of hills Shimla. As per the report, the air service is set to be launched in the next one week. State-run Pawan Hans will commence the daily helicopter service from Chandigarh to Shimla from the Chandigarh International Airport.

It has not been officially announced as in how many flights will be available between Chandigarh-Shimla but as per the report, the number of flights per day would depend upon the demand.

Journey time and fare for the helicopter service 

It has been reported that the Chandigarh to Shimla helicopter service is expected to be 25 minutes approximately. AS per the report, a six-seater helicopter is likely to operate from the Chandigarh International airport on daily basis. Though it has not been officially announced but the fare for the daily Chandigarh-Shimla helicopter service is expected to be around Rs 2,600 per trip.

Pawan Hans is reported to operate to connect Chandigarh and Shimla. The proposal to initiate the helicopter service between Chandigarh and Shimla was conceptualized more a year ago. What led to the delay of the helicopter service is believed to be the unavailability of the Pawan Hans helicopter.
