Punjabi University Patiala MBA Student Commits Suicide by Hanging Himself

Increased competition in academics claims the life of another MBA student from the Punjabi University of Patiala. Details reveal that the deceased Sartaj Anzar was depressed from the past few days after he scored too low in his MBA exams. He is the son of a Police Officer from the State of Jammu and Kashmir and was put up in a paying guest house near the Punjabi University of Patiala.

What actually happened to the MBA student of Punjabi University, Patiala?             

Sartaj Anzar was living apart from his family who hails from Jammu and Kashmir to pursue his MBA from the Punjabi University of Patiala. His parents were alarmed when he did not receive their phone calls which made them contact his friends from the same paying guest house. The friends of the MBA student found out that he had hanged himself from the ceiling fan using the curtains in the room.

The students when asked said that Sartaj was in depression from the last few days as he scored poorly in his MBA exams which he was pursuing from Punjabi University, Patiala. His father who is also a policeman in Jammu and Kashmir took his body after permissions from SDM Patiala. The Patiala Police is looking into the matter and trying to identify if there was something else too that was troubling the MBA student from Punjabi University, Patiala.

Number of Suicides are on the rise among students

The number of suicides among young students has been on a rise in India in the past few years. Students pursuing courses like MBA and MBBS have been the most affected ones. The Punjabi University, Patiala sheds light on how a student can react after failing to accomplish what his parents accept of him.

There is a great need to intervene these kids who are easily depressed due to their academic results and to make them understand failing too is a part of the process. The MBA student Punjabi University incident is the third similar case in the past month where a student went as far as taking his own life due to poor performance in academics.
