Himachal Pradesh to Start With Helicopter Flights | Know Details (Price & Time)

Under the UDAN II scheme, PM (Prime Minister) noded to give a gift of air connectivity to the people on Statehood Day of Himachal

Himachal people are all set to get the Helicopter ride to travel within the state. After a long wait to get the chopper connectivity, finally the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation has given the approval for the same in some parts Himachal. Under the UDAN II scheme, PM (Prime Minister) noded to give a gift of air connectivity to the people on Statehood Day of Himachal.

UDAN Scheme was launched by the Prime Minister last year only in Shimla. And it has been expected that the improvement of the air connectivity within the state of Himachal will boost up tourism. And for sure the new air connectivity includes the towns like Shimla, Kullu-Manali & Mandi of Himachal.

And the towns of Himachal that will get Air Connectivity

And the air connectivity via Helicopter will connect 31 unreserved helipads & 25 unreserved airports in Himachal Pradesh. Under UDAN II scheme, people will get helicopter service from Manali to Kullu, Kullu to Shimla, Kasauli to Shimla, Mandi to Dharamshala, Rampur to Narthpa-Jhakri, Shimla to Kasauli, Mandi to Kullu, Mandi to Shimla, Rampur to Shimla, Shimla to Mandi & Shimla to Rampur.

And the Civil Aviation has chosen Air India’s official carrier Pawan Hans to commence the chopper ride in the state. As of now, no announcement regarding the commencing of the dates have been out, but it is expected that the service will be started in a couple of months in Himachal.

Here’s the Price of Helicopter flights in Himachal

Air India’s official carrier Pawan Hans under UDAN II scheme will operate the Helicopter flights in towns of Himachal with atleastĀ 3 flights a week. Also, the price of the same has been kept fixed i.e Rs. 2480. As of now, 6 destinations have been opted by the Government in the state, where the Helicopters will operate. The helicopter rides in Himachal are expected to be of 30 minutes to 1 hour, that will depend upon the destination in a fixed cost.
