Toyota Yaris Base Model To Come With Seven Airbags | Check all Features & Car Specs

Toyota Yaris will offer seven airbags even on the base variant, a feat at which it can take on cars even from the segment above.

Toyota Yaris is all set to launch in India on May 18 and will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and the Hyundai Verna. This is the first ever C-Segment Sedan that Toyota is introducing in India and the Japanese automaker wants to do it right. To take on the competition the car will be equipped with many first in class features that are unheard of in this segment. Toyota Yaris will offer seven airbags even on the base variant, a feat at which it can take on cars even from the segment above.

Toyota Yaris: Features and Specifications

The all new Toyota Yaris will make its debut in the Indian car market pretty soon and come loaded with features. If the looks are concerned, the Yaris looks a lot inspired from the bigger Corolla which has been a hit among the Indian masses. There is a huge black grille which manages to take your attention right away. The wrap around headlamps too seem to be very upmarket and make the Toyota Yaris look like a very sophisticated vehicle.

Coming to things under the hood, the Toyota Yaris will come only with a 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to both manual and automatic gearboxes. Power outputs are reportedly 106 Bhp along with 140Nm of peak torque. However, with features like seven airbags as standard, cooled glove box, and roof mounted AC Vents, the Toyota Yaris is more than feature packed to take on the competition. What remains to be seen is how well the Indian customer reacts to the absence of diesel engine.

Toyota Yaris Price in India and Launch Date

Toyota Yaris Price in India is expected to start around 9 Lakhs and go up to 14 Lakh Rupees as reported earlier. However, for Toyota to achieve that kind of pricing with features like seven airbags even on the base trim will be a task too difficult.

Honestly we won’t be surprised if the car comes with a price tag higher than the one rumored. The competition for the Toyota Yaris comes from the Hyundai Verna and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. However, it is the Honda City that is targeted at the same buyer looking for a premium offering in C-Segment.
