In a shocking incident, an under-construction residential society building collapsed in Zirakpur, Mohali. According to the report, the building collapsed in the Peer Muchalla area of Zirakpur a day before. A magisterial inquiry has already been ordered in the incident.
Residential society building collapses in Zirakpur
Shockingly, a three-story, under-construction society building collapsed in the Zirakpur area in Mohali yesterday. No casualties have been reported so far in the incident, but a magisterial inquiry has been ordered in the case by the Deputy Commissioner, Mohali – Gurpreet Kaur Sapra. The DC has also directed the SDM, Derabassi, to procure all the records and documents related to the construction of the project.
Earth movers, Ambulances, Paramedics pressed into action
No casualty has been reported in the incident still four JCBs (Earth-moving machines) have been pressed into service to ensure that no one is trapped under the debris. As per the report, the district administration initiated the rescue operations to ensure that no life is lost in the building collapse. The rescue operation that has been pressed by the administration includes police, teams of paramedics and civil defense, and the municipal council. In addition to these teams, a first-aid clinic has also been set up at the spot and two ambulances have also been pressed into service to handle the situation.
Labourers might be trapped under the debris?
In the building collapse incident that occurred yesterday afternoon in Peer Muchalla area of Zirakpur, Mohali the administration has pressed as many as four earth movers to initiate the rescue operation. Though no casualty has been reported so far, but suspecting that labourers might be trapped under the debris, the administration has already initiated the rescue operation at the spot.
The incident happened around 12:30 pm in the afternoon a day before and it is being reported that the construction site was deserted when the incident happened. There is a possibility that few labourers might be at the site who might have got trapped under the debri of the three-story under construction society building in Zirakpur’s Peer Muchalla area when it collapsed.
SDM, Derabassi Paramjit Singh supervised the rescue operation and the report on the same is expected to be submitted soon.
