Places Accepting old 500 and 1000 Notes in Chandigarh
Not only Chandigarh, but whole India is facing problems with the immediate action of Modi’s decision. You must have observed that no one is accepting the banned currency in the market. But don’t worry. Chill. here’s a list of places in Chandigarh where you can still spend your currency of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000.

Hospitals:
Got stacks of black money with you? Don’t think much. Just rush to any hospital in Chandigarh be it GMCH- 16, GMCH- 32, Fortis or any other hospital and help the needy patients by paying their bills. According to the government orders, hospitals are still accepting the Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes. So, go and pay for someone’s bill and earn a bit of good karma.

Railway Ticket Counters:
Plan your journey by Indian Railways. Arry, le lo ticket. Plan in advance and then get the ticket cancelled. Atleast you’ll be able to save few hundreds. Indian railway ticket counters in Chandigarh are accepting the old currency notes of Rs. 500 as well as Rs. 1000.

Airlines Offices:
Thinking what to do with the remaining currency ? Why not go for a trip to foreign with friends or family. Its new year, just plan to go abroad this will make your family happy and you also because you can book your airline tickets with the old currency that you are having in your pocket.

Petrol Pumps:
Almost the whole Chandigarh rushed towards petrol pumps as soon as the news of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 being made illegal came out. It seemed everyone wanted to get their tanks full. If you have not got a tank full till now, go to your nearest petrol / diesel pump and get fuel.
But don’t expect any fuel pump to give you Rs. 100 notes. We already tried this and failed. Fuel stations are so clever that they say get fuel worth Rs. 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 and so on. Nothing in between that.

Temples and Gurudwaras:
Another option to spend Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes is to donate it to some Gurudwara / Temple. Some might think that this is a way to cheat God, but the gurudwara / temple will empty the donation box and get the money deposited in the bank. At least it would be used in some way.
