Owing to the absence of the air connectivity in between the City Beautiful Chandigarh as well as the queen of hills Shimla, the Heli-Taxi service in between both the places has kicked off in the month of June. Before the rolling of the Heli-Taxi service, air services in order to have a comfortable travel in between Chandigarh as well as Shimla were offered to the public but were discontinued on later stages for they were temporarily offered. The current step of rolling the Heli-Taxi service has been taken in order to promote tourist visits as well as tourism in between both the places.

In a collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh government as well as the Pawan Hans, with a motive to promote the tourism in between the two beautiful states, the Heli-Taxi Services have been offered to the public. These services were made available for the public use from June 4, 2018.

The response of the public in context to these services is awaited and if a positive response is experienced, the frequency of the rides is likely to take place. Initially, these services are available on Mondays as well as Fridays. The flight will depart from Shimla at 8 am in the morning and after a twenty-minute flight, it will reach Chandigarh at 8:20 am and vice versa.

The flight shall take off from Chandigarh in the morning at 9 am and will reach Shimla by 9:20 am. Currently, the chopper is offering a number of 20 seats for the students. The fare of a single passenger for the travel is Rs. 2,999.

Reasons For Air Services Between Chandigarh & Shimla

The main aim behind introducing the air services in between Chandigarh as well as Shimla is to promote the air connectivity in between both the places and thus end up providing a good connectivity to the hill station. Promotion of tourism is another aim for the same.

Though the chopper seems to be interesting and a fun initiates, the passengers making use of this should be aware and take the safety precautions while they board the chopper to travel.
