The City Beautiful – Chandigarh is one of the cities which is excelling in many aspects like cleanliness but on the same hand, as per the National Health Report (NHR) 2018, Chandigarh is figured to have the lowest sex ratio. This is indeed a shocking revelation which has been made by the NHR 2018.
The data and stats related to the lowest and the highest sex ratio in different parts of the country have been released by the National Health Report (NHR) 2018 in the latest which is an annual compilation of the indicators of health as well as the data of the country.
Chandigarh Has Lowest Sex Ratio As Per NHP 2018
Sex Ratio is defined as the ratio of the females in context to the males in the whole population. The total number of the woman per 1000 males is what helps to depict the sex ratio of that particular place. Unfortunately, the rural areas of the City Beautiful is experiencing a very low sex ratio. For every 1000 men, there are only 690 women in the rural areas of Chandigarh. Within the whole country, Chandigarh has the worst and the lowest sex ratio and the southern state of Kerala having the highest in both the rural as well as the urban areas. For rural areas in Kerala,the figure is 1078 and for that of the urban areas the figures stands to 1091 as stated by the National Health Profile (NHP) 2018.
The recent report has been released by the NHP 2018 which has stated that the rural areas of Chandigarh have the poorest sex ratio. To join Chandigarh in the list of the low sex ratio is the National Capital that is New Delhi. The overall density of the Indian population is 382.
Reasons For Chandigarh’s Worse Sex Ratio
The City Beautiful – Chandigarh has a population of 9,268 per square kilometers and a considerable chunk of the overall population is situated in the rural areas as in comparison to the ones situated in the urban areas. Also, it has been estimated by the National Health Resource Repository Project belonging to the Ministry, the medical and health facilities are widely available in the urban areas as compared to the rural areas.
