As per the reports, the 7th Pay Commission will boost salaries of the government employees. Post recommendations, the salaries of the Central government employees are expected to be hiked. The government is likely to increase the minimum basic pay of Central government employees from Rs 18,000 to Rs 21,000 per month soon. It has also been reported that the fitment factor for the basic pay of Central government employees is also likely to be raised. The current fitment factor for the basic pay is 2.57 times which is likely to be increased to 3 times. This fitment factor has been increased on the recommendations by the 7th Pay Commission.

The Central government employees, after the 7th pay commission, have a reason to rejoice. The current BJP government is likely to increase their minimum basic pay from Rs 18,000 to Rs 21,000 per month soon. If reports are to be believed, the National Anomaly Committee (NAC) is likely to meet next month. The meeting will be held to review the basic pay structure as recommended by the 7th Pay Commission committee and it may also recommend a hike in the minimum basic pay. Post the meeting there are chances that the hike in the minimum basic pay is materialised.  from Rs 18,000 to Rs 21,000 per month as against the current demand of getting it increased to Rs 26,000. It has also been reported that the employees have put a current demand of getting an increase to Rs 26,000.

According to the report, the Central government employees’ unions, were not happy with the decision of the committee regarding the recommendations of the 7th pay commission. The employees’ union wanted the minimum basic pay under 7th pay commission hike to be increased to Rs 26,000.

It has been reported that the National Anomaly Committee is likely to meet in October. The committee will be reviewing the basic pay structure though it has already been declared that the Central government employees will get a hike in the minimum basic pay which is likely to be increased to 21, 000 from the existing Rs 18,000. What can bring in an addition in amount is the fitment factor for basic pay which is also likely to be raised to 3 times. Currently, the fitment factor for basic pay is 2.57 times. This recommendation has also been initiated by the 7th Pay Commission.
