7th Pay Commission | Decision On Minimum Pay Hike To Arrive Soon, Increased Salary Likely in Jan

With the continuous recommendations of 7th Pay Commission to raise the minimum pay of the central government employees, NAC [National Anomaly Committee] has been formulating a procedure and decision on the same. Recently, NAC formulated by India’s Finance Minister, Mr. Arun Jaitley has decided to raise the minimum pay of the central government employees from Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 21,000, Although no official statement has been out yet the sources are positive.

It seems like wait for the minimum pay hike is about to end by January 2018. The process of increasing the minimum pay for the central government employees began on 30th June 2016, in a meeting held by Mr. Arun Jaitley at the residence of Home Minister Rajnath Singh. At this meeting, the Finance department assured that the 7th pay recommendation regarding the increment in the basic pay is taken into consideration.

In response to the 7th Pay Commission’s recommendations to increment the basic pay level, NAC meeting is going to be held by this month of October 2017. As per the sources, the word has spread that the final decision on the concerning matter will be carried out by the end of January 2018. The NAC meeting led by Mr. Arun Jaitley is supposed to take place on 7th October 2017, where the votes of the central government employees will be taken. After the decision is carried out the process of examination of the report will be carried out.

ECoS Going To Examine NAC’s Report on Minimum Pay Hike Recommended by 7th Pay Commission

After the report is passed by the NAC, National Anomaly Committee regarding the rise of the Fitment factor to 3.00 from 2.57 and hike in minimum pay, ECoS [Empowered Committee of Secretaries] headed by Cabinet Minister Mr. P.K Sinha will examine the report. After the examination is over at the ECoS ends, the final request will be placed in front of the Union Cabinet by the end of January 2018.

After so long wait and continuous efforts of the 7th pay Commission, the decision is seemingly getting closer. As per the sources, the final decision on the issue of incrementing the minimum pay and Fitment Factor is awaited by the end of January 2018.
