7th Pay commission has been struggling with the recommended pay hikes for the employees working in different pillars of the government. Recently, along with the most awaited minimum pay hike for CG employees, Lok Sabha was presented with the bill regarding the recommended pay hike for the Judges. As per the sources, the confirmation has come that the Lok Sabha has finally passed the bill to increase the salaries of the judges of the Supreme court along with the 24 high court judges. The seventh pay commission recommended the hike of the salaries of the judges by two folds.

During the discussion in the Lok Sabha regarding the matter of increasing the pay scale of the judges, the concern was shown by the members stating that the decision is imposing threats of the principle of separation of powers. After the complete discussion, the final decision was taken in favor of the salary hike of the supreme court judges and 24 high court judges by two-folds. After the implementation of this bill, the salaries of the judges of the country will come on par with the salaries of the bureaucrats.

Changes Expected after implementation of the Bill Recommended by 7th Pay Commission

Seventh pay commission recommended a few months back to increase the salaries of the judges in the country by two folds. According to the sources, the Lok Sabha has finally passed the bill stating the recommendation of the 7th Pay commission (7th CPC). After the bill shapes into the law, the Chief Justice of India will get a monthly salary of Rs. 2.8 Lakh and the judges in the supreme court will draw a monthly salary of 2.5 Lakh.

The only catch left in this matter is that the Rajya Sabha has not passed the bill in the winter session that ended on 5th January, therefore, the wait might have to continue till the next budget session that is from 30th January. This new year finally a good news has come for the judges who were waiting for their salary revision under 7th Pay commission. The recommendation of seventh pay commission for the increment of the salaries of the judges has been cleared by the Lok Sabha.
