Now you can link your Aadhaar number with your bank account, LIC, PAN Card and mobile number latest by March 31, 2018. Yes, that’s right! The government of India has informed the Supreme Court for extending the deadline of linking the Aadhaar from December 31, 2017 to March 31, 2018. The government has made linking of the Aadhaar card number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) mandatory for all the people across India to avail various welfare schemes.
Deadline for linking Aadhaar extended till March 31, 2018
The extension of the deadline of Aadhaar linking is yet to finalize by the Supreme Court’s special constitution bench of five-judge who will hear the plea seeking the decision of making Aadhaar linking mandatory. However, the Supreme Court has confirmed that February 6 is the extended deadline for linking the Aadhaar with your mobile number. Those who will not link their Aadhaar numbers within the stipulated deadline will be termed as violators and their mobile phone numbers will get disconnected.
Steps to link your Aadhaar number
Here is how you can link your Aadhaar and PAN card number. First of all register yourself on the Income-tax e-Filing portal, then log in using the ID, password, and DoB allotted to you. Now click on the link PAN card with Aadhaar card popping on your screen.
Now add the required details including the name, date of birth (DoB), gender as mentioned in your PAN card details. Now enter the 12 digit Aadhaar number followed by the captcha displayed on the screen. Then click the button ‘Link Aadhaar’ and submit your details. Now your Aadhar number will be linked to your PAN after the successful validation. You will now see the pop up ‘Aadhaar card linked successfully with the PAN’. In case of any printing mistake or changes in the address or phone number in your Aadhaar card, people are suggested to first get it rectified by the UIDAI and then get it linked.
