The day is not far when the Indian government would make Aadhaar number mandatory for availing almost all government services. The Indian government laid the foundation for making the Aadhaar number applicable for various services by putting into force the Aadhaar Act, 2016, from July 12, 2016. The government established the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) under this Act.
