Reliance JioPhone success has given rise to the 4G feature phone market and almost all major Telecom Companies have launched their respective products in the segment. A few them have gone a step further than the Mukesh Ambani owned Telecom Company and launched cheap smartphones with Android Operating System.
Although none of them could get close to the price tag of the Jio Phone by Reliance, they do come with the added functionality of the Android user interface that the people have become used to. To counter this, the company has partnered with chip maker MediaTek and Google to develop another Reliance Jio 4G Phone with Android Go Operating System which will come at an unbelievably low price in India.
Features of the New Reliance 4G Jio Phone with Android GO
The new JIO 4G Phone by Reliance is going to carry the Android GO operating system which means the users will be able to get more in terms of functionality than the feature phones that we have seen so far. The Reliance JioPhone might carry one of the two MediaTek chipsets – MT6739 and MT6580 and 1GB of RAM or even less. The Play Store will recommend apps which are best suited to make use of the operating system and the phone will consume less data at the same time.
Google had announced the Go version of Android Oreo aimed at developing countries which could run on low-cost smartphones with minimum hardware requirement. A partnership with Mediatek to develop dirt cheap Reliance JioPhone with Android Go will help the giant to penetrate even the remotest parts of the country. Reliance Jio enjoys a huge customer base and has already sold millions of units of its cheap 4G phone.
Android GO Reliance JioPhone Launch and Price in India
Google’s Android Go smartphones are rumoured to launch in the first quarter of 2018 and we won’t be surprised if the Reliance Jio phone is the first one to make a debut of the lot. At a time when all the telecom providers have managed to price their plans in line competitively with Jio Phone, Reliance is trying to lure in customers with bundling offers with its cheap 4G phones. Since you had to pay Reliance 1,500 Rupees for its Jio Phone, we expect the Android Go phone to come at a price tag closer to 2,000 Rupees which will be refunded after a set period of time.
