After Mi TV 4, Now Thompson Launches 3 Budget Models of Smart TV in India | Here’re The Details

After the success of the Chinese electronics and smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi’s Mi TV 4, a French brand, Thompson launches its new range of smart TV in the electronic market of India.  Thompson has made a re-entry into the Indian market via online mode after long 15 years of its exit from the country with the release of its 3 budget-friendly Android supporTelevision television. The newly launched is all set to give a tough competition to Xiaomi’s Mi TV in terms of features and price.

Thompson has come up with 3 models of the smart Android TV that will cater Indian consumers and will hit the Indian television market worth Rs 22,000 crore. The French brand has joined hands with Super Plastronics (SSPL) who owns the exclusive licensing agreement for the manufacturing of Thompson TVs in India and Flipkart, an e-commerce website for its sale.

Specs & price of Thompson smart TV in India

Talking about the specifications of the Thompson smart TV, it has three variants, out of which first is the 43-inch ultra HD (43UHDXSMART) television which will cost Rs 27,999. This variant is at par with the Xiaomi’s 55-inch ultra HD television which is priced at Rs 39,999. Thompson’s other variants include a 40-inch ultra HD television and 32-inch ultra HD television which is again cheaper than the price of Xiaomi’s Mi TV in India.

All three variants of Thompson TV are light in weight and designed for better viewing. The TVs are pretty looking with sharp edges while the control panel is attached aesthetically with other parts of the body. The Thompson TVs has three HDMI ports, out of which one is for Audio/ Video connectivity, Component (YPbPr), Ethernet – RJ45 for LAN followed by HDMI CEC. The device has Android supporting system, language change facility, SD Card slot, USB port, provision for wall mounting or to be kept on the stand and comes along with a remote for its operations.

The alliance of both the Indian manufacturer SPPL and France based Thompson is focusing on capturing 6 to 7 percent share of the smart television segment in the electronic market of India. With new entries, they even wish to become India’s No.1 selling Android enabled smart television in the years to come. The brand is also mulling on adding another line of manufacturing unit for LED TV in India by mid of this year.
