Air India Announces a Direct Flight from Chandigarh to Singapore

The International Airport at Chandigarh is again in news as Air India has just announced a direct flight between Chandigarh & Singapore. The new flight would be operated by Air India under its low fare international brand “Air India Express”.

Chandigarh – Singapore will be the third international flight from Chandigarh after Air India’s Chandigarh – Sharjah and Indigo’s Chandigarh – Dubai flight. A lot of people from the city of Chandigarh and neighboring states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh go to Singapore on tourist visa for their vacations. Apart from this, a lot of business takes place between Singapore and these North Indian states. To cater to these segment of people and to help them travel between Chandigarh and Singapore, Air India has announced a special direct flight from the Chandigarh International Airport.

Chandigarh to Singapore Flight Details

No date has been announced by Air India for the starting of this flight but according to sources, the airlines has already applied for a license for this route and is expecting an early response from the ministry.

It would be a direct flight with no stop in between. The frequency of the flight in regard to how many days a week will this flight operate has also not been decided yet. However, according to sources, these details will be announced on 15th September, 2016 – when Air India Express will operate the first maiden flight from Chandigarh to Sharjah.

A direct non-stop flight from New Delhi to Singapore takes about 5 hours and 45 minutes and it costs somewhere around Rs. 17,500 to Rs. 25,000 or more for a one way ticket. However, with this direct flight from Chandigarh to Singapore, people will not have to first travel to New Delhi to board the flight. The air ticket from Chandigarh to Singapore is also expected to be somewhat same as that from New Delhi.

So, whenever the Chandigarh Singapore flight is announced, remember that there would be some inaugural discounts. For example the Chandigarh – Dubai return ticket was being offered in just Rs. 9,999 per person. Keep an eye on ChandigarhMetro.com to know when it happens.
