After challenging Reliance Jio with numerous offers and attractive recharge plans, Airtel is all set to announce a cheap 4G smartphone. This move is targeted to counter the newly launched Jio Phone and the buzz created by the Jio phone since its delivery that started last week.
According to the latest reports, there have been certain indications in the sector that reveals that market leader Bharti Airtel is planning to launch a 4G phone to be positioned against the Jio phone and it is likely this affordable 4G smartphone by Airtel my cost the consumers around Rs 2,000.
Bharti Airtel May Introduce 4G Phone to counter Jio Phone
It has been reported earlier that market leader Bharti Airtel might bring a cheap 4G smartphone in the market. It was further reported that Airtel will also offer voice and data benefits with the 4G smartphone to compete against Jio Phone.
Reliance Jio had launched Jio Phone in the month of July this year. According to report, the effective price of the newly launched Reliance Jio phone is Rs 0. The company is charging Rs 1,500 which is refundable. This is for the first time that a company has launched a phone where it is just taking security charge for its Phone. In fact, is the first ever 4G VoLTE-enabled feature that has been launched by Reliance Jio.
Bharti Airtel May Introduce 4G Phone Under Rs 2000
According to reports, Bharti Airtel is in talks with some of the smartphone manufacturers to build a 4G smartphone. It has also been reported that Airtel wants this phone to be priced under Rs 2,500. This smartphone from Airtel will come with a better camera, bigger screen and a better battery backup.
It has been reported that Airtel will not finance the manufacturing of this 4G smartphone like the Jio Phone. The company stated that the responsibility to finance the 4G smartphone by Airtel will be borne by the manufacturer. Airtel stated that it will only provide data benefits and voice call services to its consumers. Tough the phone from Airtel will allow the users to download applications from Google Play store.
Specification of the Airtel 4G phone
Though the company has not revealed anything officially but it is being speculated that the phone by Airtel may primarily come with 4-inch screen. The phone may also carry primary and selfie cameras, VoLTE calling and 1GB RAM for faster process.
The Airtel 4G phone is also expected to get a powerful battery which will easily bear the burden from the power-draining 4G networks. The report did not confirm the day of launch but it stated that the announcement of the Airtel 4G phone could be done by end of this month and the Airtel phone could reach its customers by the end of this year.
