Airtel 4G VoLTE | Here’s a List of Smartphones Compatible with Airtel 4G VoLTE

Airtel 4G voLTE: The true 4G voLTE war between two of India’s largest networks has finally taken a full swing. Since JIO launched its 4G voLTE services in India last year the whole telecom industry was taken by a storm because there was no other operator which was providing true 4G voLTE connectivity. However, this changed earlier this month when Airtel became the second telecom company to launch its 4G voLTE services in the country.

Not all smartphones work with Airtel 4G voLTE:

AIrtel might have launched its 4G voLTE services in the country to take on the Mukesh Ambani owned JIO 4G voLTE network, but it may have already hit a huge roadblock. It turns out that all the 4G enabled smartphones that support JIO’s 4G voLTE do not support Airtel 4G voLTE. The reason for this is that Airtel’s 4g voLTE works on different spectrum compared to that of JIO’s 4G voLTE. There are very few manufacturers that support Airtel 4G voLTE as of now, the others will however have to lend in support with an update at a later stage.

Airtel 4g voLTE compatible smartphones:

All the recent Apple iPhone devices in India support Airtel 4G voLTE. iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and 6 plus, iPhone 6s and 6s plus, iPhone 7 and 7 plus, iPhone 8 and 8 plus.

Coming to the Samsung devices the Samsung A series phones like the A5, A7, A8, A9 will support Airtel 4G voLTE. Apart from that Samsung J2, J2 Pro, J7 and J7 prime will also work on the AIrtel 4G voLTE network. The Samsung ON series phones can also be used to make calls via Airtel 4G voLTE. It is very surprising as none of the Samsung flagships like the S8 or the Note 8 support Airtel’s voLTE but since they are new devices the probability of them getting an update is very high.
Xiaomi that is currently the largest manufacturer in India sells around 10 million phones annually in the country. Only three phones out of the current Xiaomi portfolio support Airtel 4G voLTE. The three phones are the Mi Max, Mi 5, and the immensely popular Redmi Note 4.

Gionee’s A1, A1 lite, X1 and X1s also work with Airtel 4G voLTe. Oppo A71, F3 and the F3 plus are also compatible. Vivo’s Y55 and Y66 are the only two phones that work on the Airtel 4G voLTE network. The only Indian manufacturer in the list is Lava. Four of Lava’s phones can be used with AIrtel 4G voLTE network that are the Z25, Z60, Z80, and the Z90.
