Here’s What Akshay Kumar’s New Movie (Toilet Ek Prem Katha) is All About

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha will hit the silver screens on August 11, 2017. The trailer for the Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar’s much-awaited film was unveiled yesterday during the South Africa Vs India ICC Champions Trophy match. Though actor Akshay Kumar missed the trailer launch as he is out for vacations with family.  The movie 2:59 minutes video trailer has received more than 5 million views so far.

The trailer opens on Akshay who plays role of Keshav dreaming to get married only when he meets Jaya (Bhumi Pednekar) and falls in love. Jaya is a broad-minded and a progressive thinker, while Keshav is a simple person. All’s well in their lives, till Jaya, after marriage, is introduced to the lota gang by the women of her house. (Jaya is told about defecating in the open). However, she fights back along with Keshav. Besides all the situation, Keshav and Jaya attempt to bring a change in their family’s thought and take on a political battle over open defecation and sanitation.

Besides Akshay, the film also features Bhumi Pednekar, Sana Khaan and Anupam Kher.  Anupam Kher plays an important role in the firm supporting Jaya and Keshav’s cause. The trailer ends with a disappointing note where the actor is heard saying -“Aashiqo ne Aashiqui ke liye Taj Mahal bana diya, hum ek sandas na bana sake.” So the question is has the man failed to educate his village about importance of proper sanitation facilities in order to save his married life?
