Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto has bigger plans for its Avenger motorcycle series in 2018. Bajaj may soon come up with a new 180 cc engine to introduce in the Avenger series. The two-wheeler manufacturer has plans to launch the Bajaj Avenger 180 to replace the Avenger 150 in 2018. Bajaj may have plans to launch the Avenger in a bigger and powerful engine to rival the Suzuki Intruder 150. The company is already offering Bajaj Pulsar 180 in this engine segment.
As per the reports, Bajaj is planning to discontinue to Avenger 150 in February 2018, so we can expect from Bajaj to launch the Avenger 180 in the same month. The new Avenger may be launched at a lower price than the Suzuki intruder 150 to give it a competitive edge. The present Bajaj Avenger 150 is priced by the company at Rs.80,435 but the new Avenger 180 is likely to be priced around Rs.5000 more than the present variant.
Avenger 180 Engine Specifications and Features
Avenger 180 will be powered by a 178.2cc four stroke engine, the same engine that powers the popular Pulsar 180 sports bike. The new engine will churn out a power of 17 bhp and a peak torque of 14Nm that is higher than Avenger 150 that produces only 14.3 bhp power and 12.5 Nm of torque. The new engine will be air and oil cooled mated to a five speed gearbox as given in Pulsar 180. The suspension duties will be handled by the telescopic front shockers and gas charged shockers at the rear. Avenger 180 will come with spoke wheels having disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear.
Bajaj Avenger 180 Expected Price
The upcoming Bajaj Avenger 180 is expected to be priced around Rs.85,000 while Suzuki has priced its cruiser bike Intruder at Rs.98340. Bajaj will keep the price competitive to take on the sales of Suzuki Intruder. Bajaj Avenger is already the market leader in cruiser bikes segment among Indian customers.
The Bajaj Avenger 220 is already offered by the company in Street and Cruise variants. Avenger 180 might be launched in only the street variant. While at present there are not many details available for Avenger 180, rumours suggest that it may get the single channel ABS.
