Is Bajaj Auto Planning to Roll-Out a New 400cc Bajaj Pulsar? | Check Out!

One of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in India, Bajaj Motorcycles is reported to be working on new 400cc DOHC engine. It is being speculated that the two-wheeler maker is planning to launch a new 400cc Pulsar in India. Some of the reports have also mentioned that a new variant of the Bajaj Pulsar may soon be introduced by the company which may be badged as Bajaj Pulsar 400 RS.

Is Bajaj Auto planning to roll-out a new 400cc Bajaj Pulsar?

As per the report, Bajaj Motors is working on a brand new 400cc DOHC engine which is likely to be introduced in a new variant of the Bajaj Pulsar which may be badged as the Bajaj Pulsar RS. The company has not yet revealed any information about the new 400cc Pulsar RS but the two wheeler maker may soon unveil the new bike in India.

Currently Bajaj Auto has a 373cc four stroke engine but now the company working a more powerful 400cc engine which is likely to be introduced in the new Pulsar RS. The new 400cc four stroke engine will be equipped with a DOHC layout. DOHC is the double overhead camshafts which is currently being used in the Dominar 400. The Dominar 400 gets power from the 373cc four stroke engine.

Specifications of the new bike from Bajaj with 400cc engine 

The new bike from two and three wheeler maker Bajaj Auto will come with the new DOHC engine which may rev higher and churn out more power than the existing SOHC engine of the DOHC. As per the report, the auto maker is targeting to tune the engine to produce a power output of 40 Bhp for the DOHC engine. This new 400cc engine, with more power and control is likely to be used on the new Bajaj Pulsar RS 400.

Besides the new 400cc DOHC engine and twin camshafts, the engine will also get single cylinder layout, fuel injected, liquid cooled, four valves and triple spark plug ignition. The new bike from Bajaj with 400cc engine may come paired to a six speed manual gearbox which may also get a slipper clutch.

Competition and price of the expected Pulsar RS 

The automaker has not yet indicated when will it launch the new engine but once the company introduces the Bajaj Pulsar RS 400, it will be the flagship model from Bajaj Autos. The new bike may feature similar features to the Pulsar RS 200 such as the full fairing. New bike will take on the TVS Apache RR 310S that was launched by TVS recently but the Bajaj bike is likely to carry a price tag lower than the contender – the Apache RR 310S.

The bike is likely to be priced around Rs 1.7 Lakh in India.
