There aren’t a lot of good and affordable bars in Chandigarh where you can go out for a drink. Although a plethora of good places have come up in the past including some fine microbreweries, but they can truly burn a hole in your pocket at the same time. It is only natural that you would want to head out for a drink with your friends to catch up every once in a while without worrying about paying the huge bills every time. So we at Chandigarh Metro decided to compile a list of some rather affordable places where you can head put for a drink in Chandigarh.
Twenty-Fifth Hour, Sector 26, Chandigarh
If you ever want to head out to a affordable place for a drink in Chandigarh which was fancy at the same time then we believe there is no better place than Twenty Fifth Hour. Located in Sector 26 along with some of the finest microbreweries in town, this place has been making a mark for itself among the frugal pubs of the Chandigarh city. We tried finding Ballentine’s in their menu which happens to be our favourite drink which was priced for 200 Rupees for 30ml. a pint of Corona will set you back by 275 Rupees which is one of the lowest price we have ever come across.

Gymkhana Pub, Sector 17, Chandigarh
One of the oldest places on the list, the Gymkhana Pub of Sector 17 is one of the most affordable bars in Chandigarh. IT is centrally located in the heart of the city and is easily accessible to most people. Although the ambience cannot be much spoken of, the prices of your favourite drinks will bring a smile on your face. A 30ml peg of Black Dog Triple Gold reserve costs just 135 Rupees which is three times pricier at any other bar of the city. A glass of beer comes at a feeble 60 Rupees thus making it one of the cheapest beer places in Chandigarh.

Pub 22 Beer Bar
This is hands down as affordable as a bar experience can ever get. The place is located in the mobile market of Sector 22 opposite the ISBT 17. The ambience is not something to write home about and the crowd is not exactly sophisticated but if you are running short on money at the end of the month then this place might be the best option for you. You can get drunk here with your friends for less than 500 Rupees per person which is dirt cheap fellas. Dirt cheap!

The Beer Cafe, Elante Mall, Chandigarh
Okay not exactly inexpensive right? One of the largest chain of beer cafes in India, this place is located in the ground floor of the city’s favourite destination Elante Mall. It boasts of a variety of more than 50 beers both imported and Indian and is probably the only place we know you can get the Asahi and Guinness and Stella Artois which my friends are some of the beers worthy of your money. The reason this place makes it to our list is that there are a hundreds of deals for this place on the web making it one of the most fun drinking experience on a budget in Chandigarh.

Mermaid Pub and Bar, Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh
If we had to hand out trophies for the best location for a bar cum restaurant then Mermaid would be the only one in our list of nominations. Located in the Sukhna Lake premises, the place has a brilliant view of the lake from its large windows and you can enjoy that with a glass of fresh beer from the tap. Although you won’t find the most extensive varieties of liquor here, you can still have a great experience in this affordable bar of Chandigarh.

Malt and Co.
Located in the Piccadily Hotel in Sector 22, Malt and Co. Is a favourite among the people looking to have drinks on a budget in Chandigarh. It is actually a small microbrewery and you can try out there mug of fresh beers for as low as 179 Rupees. The place has a lot in store for you even if you are not a beer person as a 30ml drink of Black Dog Reserve here costs only 225 Rupees which is one of the cheapest among the places on this list.

Sector 70 – A One Snacks Bar and AC Tavern
IF you still found the abovementioned names expensive for your liking then this right here is what you were looking for. IF you are accustomed to the Tavern concept of Chandigarh city then you might like to visit this one. You can walk into the Tavern with your own bottle and pay only for the snacks you order here. Compared to the other taverns of the city, the snacks here are hygienic and taste at par with some of the better restaurants. You can walk out with a bill less than 100 Rupees here and that is the cheapest bar experience in Chandigarh hands down.

City Heart Terrace top (City Cabana)
One of the recent places I have visited on the list is the City Cabana restaurant at the rooftop of the City Heart Hotel in Sector 17. A 30ml peg of Black Dog Reserve costs only 70 Rupees and we are not sure how anyone can beat that. The bar is set up on a rooftop and offers the experience of an open air place which frankly is not something that the other names in the list can do. Until a few months ago, you could also take your own bottle here but we won’t bet on that so we highly recommend making a call here first.

Bars A Chicha, Panchkula
We have mentioned some of the cheapest places for drinks in Chandigarh but how about you don’t pay anything for alcohol at all? Well that is the best thing about the BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) concept as you can buy the entire bottle on MRP outside and tell the waiter to serve you while you enjoy some of the choices snack offering along with a Sheesha.

These might be the most affordable bars in Chandigarh offering a great experience on a budget. WE would like to remind you that since they do not ask for a lot of money, you should not walk in to expect a great ambience or a sophisticated crowd. These are the cheapest pubs in Chandigarh where you can head out with your friends after a long day at work. While these places might be easy on the pocket we highly recommend that you invest in taking a cab here as Driving after Drinking can be an unsafe and troublesome affair in the city of Chandigarh.
