BMW To Launch G 310 R, G 310 GS Bikes In India | Check Out Price & Launch Date

As per reports, BMW G 310 R, G 310 GS are all set to be launched in India. Reports suggest that the BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS will be launched in the second-half of next year. To reduce the production cost and to launch both the bikes BMW G 310 R, G 310 GS at an attractive price it was reported that these BMW bikes are to be made in India. Initially, BMW aims at 10 dealerships across India by end of 2018.

According to reports, the BMW G 310 R street naked and the BMW G 310 GS adventure bike will be launched in India next year and will go on sale in the country in the second-half of 2018. Motorbike enthusiasts had been anxiously waiting for these BMW bikes since one of the bikes, the BMW G 310 R was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in India.

The G 310 R is already being sold in the international market, and it is reported that the BMW G 310 R GS is about to follow suit.

BMW To Launch G 310 R, G 310 GS Bikes In India

It has been reported that the BMW G 310 GS is based on the BMW G 310 R platform. Major differentiation between the two is that the BMW G 310 GS is an adventure-styled machine whereas the G 310 R is a street naked bike. The BMW G 310 GS gets a 19-inch front wheel coupled with a longer travel suspension. This will enhance the riding comfort and also offers some mild off-road capability.

Currently the line-up of BMW bikes are all full-sized imports. BMW’s mid-size offerings are expected to come in India via the FTA route through BMW’s assembly plant in Thailand. It is likely that BMW might bring in the BMW F 800 R street naked and the BMW F 800 GS, to the country. The BMW F 800 GS will is poised to be a strong rival to the likes of the Triumph Tiger 800 and Honda’s Africa Twin AT.

The G 310 R which is expected to be launched in India next year is reported to be more affordable than the KTM 390 Duke on the international platform and it will be worth witnessing how BMW will be positioning its new launches in the premium bike segment in India, while pricing the BMW G 310 GS and the BMW G 310 R. Post the launch, the BMW G 310 R will compete with the KTM 390 Duke.

BMW’s presence in the country

Currently, BMW has its presence in different parts of the country and operates through its four showrooms located at Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru. It has been reported that BMW is all set to open its three showrooms in Delhi, Cochin and Chennai by the end of this year.

The company has plans to expand to other regions by opening another three showrooms in Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Kolkata by 2018. After the opening of all the showrooms, BMW will have operations in all the major cities and will have a presence across the country with 10 running dealerships.
