
Central Board of Secondary Education has confirmed that the class 10 or class 12 board examination 2017-18 will be conducted in the month of March and will not advance it in February as rumored earlier. The CBSE board examination for class 10 and 12 will commence from the first week of March. All the CBSE schools are expecting that class 10 & 12 board exams will get started from March 1, 2018, which is tentatively after the Holi.
CBSE to conduct board exams in March and not in February
Previously, it was rumored that the CBSE is likely to start the board examination from February 2018. Earlier, this year, CBSE received a proposal of conducting the class 10 and 12 board examination from February 2018 so that the examiner can get ample of time to check the copies. The approval was sent to the board in order to seek extra time to examine the copies written by the students and come out with error-free results.
However, one of the CBSE officials has now confirmed media that the class 10 and 12 board papers will not be conducted in advance and will start in March like every year. CBSE Probably, from this time the CBSE is trying to reduce the duration of the board exams which till date used to stretch up to 40-45 days in general. The short duration of the board examination will effect in early results i.e by the last week of April or the first week of May 2018. The dates for the commencement of the examination have not been finalized yet by the CBSE and many other changes in the board’s examination pattern.
Students appearing for CBSE board exam 2018 & other changes
As per the registration, this year over 1.1 million students is preparing to appear for the CBSE Class 12 board examination. This year the toll of students registered for the final CBSE board exam for class 12th has risen by 2.82 % i.e 1.067 million from last year. For class 12 board exam only, there will 3,502 centres set up along with and 10,678 schools that will conduct the examinations.
Apart from this, CBSE is planning to make class 10 board exam of CBSE compulsory for all the students from the academic year 2018-19. More than 18000 CBSE affiliated schools will have to make the Class 10 board exams compulsory for students.
