The CBSE Class 10th English Board Exam 2018 had a major error as misprint in the language paper today. As per the marking scheme and exam pattern of the CBSE Class 10th English Board Exam released, only one novel based question is to be attempted.

The Question No. 11 both parts ‘A’ and ‘B’ are supposed to have an external choice out of which only one is to be attempted. Though, there was an internal choice between part ‘A’ and ‘B’ among themselves, which was okay, but external choice was a must.

Students who go through just one out of the two prescribed novels in the syllabus are provided with this choice. Even within this, students are further given choice to attempt one out of the given novel. Therefore, this 10 marker question had an ‘OR’ misprinted which was not given in the choices of the two.

As against expectations of a language question paper, today’s CBSE Class 10th English Board Exam was not at all a lengthy one. Students who feared that they would not be able to attempt the English question paper completely, did the same within two hours.
