CBSE i.e. Central Board of Secondary Education has recently issued guidelines for evaluating Class 10th Board Exams 2018. With no update pertaining to the official release of the date sheet for the Class 10th and 12th board exams scheduled in March 2018, the time table for the same is all set to be announced by the board soon. More importantly, the board prior to the release of its CBSE Class 10th & 12th Board Exams 2018 date sheet cum time table has revealed the evaluation strategy to reduce the subjectivity in the marking of the answer scripts of the candidates online. The evaluator and school heads shall take good care of the notification released on CBSE official website at cbse.nic.in online.

The board has announced the evaluation strategy for marking the answer sheets of the candidates appearing for Class 10th board exams in March 2018 on its official website online. Candidates are iterated to check the evaluation strategy as the same shall aid them to attempt their respective board examinations scheduled in 2018 by the CBSE in an effective manner so as to gain a better score.

This shall also ensure candidates to predict the range of marks within which their scores in the upcoming CBSE Class 10th Board Exams 2018 shall lie. Also, apart from the students, the teachers who shall be evaluating the answer scripts of these candidates shall strictly adhere to the official CBSE marking scheme introduced by the board along with the norms and guidelines issued to them online.

The general guidelines and norms as issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education for checking and marking the answer scripts of the students currently studying in Class 10th in CBSE affiliated schools are available online, gist of notification of which has been mentioned herein. CBSE clearly states that the answers given in the marking scheme issued are only suggested answers whose content is simply indicative. Also, candidates who have attempted the questions citing a different answer whose meaning in the end remains the same as that of suggested answer shall be awarded full weightage of the marks without any discrepancy.

Also, evaluators are requested to strictly adhere to the marking scheme leaving aside their own interpretations while checking answer scripts in which alternative methods are accepted wherein the proportional markings shall be awarded for the same. The board has also issued separate marking schemes for different sets of the same exam for the ease of the teachers in checking the CBSE Class 10th Board Exams 2018 this year. Also, if a candidate has attempted an extra question from the choices, only the first one shall be evaluated & marked as per the boards’ norms.
