CBSE grants the first fifteen minutes in CBSE Board Exams 2018 as ‘reading time’ to candidates. This means that the CBSE Class 10th English Board Exam shall start at 10:15 am but candidates would not be able to write the test untill 10:30 am. For many this appears as a reading time only with candidates going through the entire question paper, for many others it is a bane.

The section-wise division in the CBSE Class 10th English Board Exam 2018 ensures that Section-A is reading section comprising of RC. The Reading Comprehension time can be replaced with first 5 minutes on going through the question paper and rest 10 minutes on attempting the same.

Mind you, you still would not be granted time to write, so here’s a trick. Candidates must read the questions in RC section of first passage and then start reading the passage. They can keep answers in their mind of pointer questions and write as and when writing time starts. So by the time others shall start the test, the ones ahead would directly have started writing.

Many students find language paper quite lengthy. This is because of inefficient utilisation of time allotted for attempting the CBSE Class 10th English Board Exam. Candidates must attempt RC section as mentioned above and finish the same by 11:10 am. This means you are through with Section A within a few minutes of commencing of the test.

Now, many of you would jump to Section-B post this. Since, this is a writing section which requires thinking and visualisation of abstract topics, it must be dealt separately and in the end. So, Section : C which is the literature and Grammar parts must be attempted and devoted full 1 hour till 12:15pm.

Post this, candidates are left with writing section with four write ups. Make boxes and formats as they carry the maximum marks in this section. Post this attempt the this section and stick to the word limit as deductions may occur if you exceed the same.

Candidates can take full one hour attempting this part and would still be left with 15 minutes. This time must be utilised for carrying out revision and re-reading answers to point out and correct errors. Some keywords must be highlighted to improve the overall attempt of CBSE Class 10th English Board Exam. This would leave a good impact on examiner and fetch you a better score.
