As per media reports, CBSE is likely to grant grace marks to Class X students for major errors in English board exam 2018.

CBSE Class 10th English Board exam was held on March 12, 2018 last week across the nation. The students who appeared for CBSE Class 10th English Board exam on March 12, 2018 encountered issues with questions in the RC section. The Section A of Class 10th English question paper contained erroneous data wherein students were asked to find synonyms out of paragraphs which did not contain those words.

A printing error or ‘typo’ as they say was also detected in Novel based question in CBSE Class 10th English Board exam 2018 question paper this year. Students have filed petitions while many teachers gave their feedback to the board regarding the issue.

CBSE in its commendable initiative allowed students to give feedback on question papers of board exams 2018 this year. It is most likely that CBSE this year shall grant grace marks to Class X students in English Board exam 2018.

Although, CBSE has released no such circular online and no such official word has come out in this regard. Many sources and whatsapp group circulating relevant information about the same have surfaced. The report published in Times Now clearly states that the group wherein the same surfaced is a relevant source but the origin of the same is not confirmed yet.

Many students feel that erroneous question of comprehension passage must be looked into by CBSE. The question in CBSE Class 10th English Board exam 2018 carried 2 marks.  Class 10th students have urged board to grant them 2 marks as grace marks in the English test.

Also, it is unclear that who all would get these grace marks if at all they are being granted in evaluation. CBSE Class 10th English Board exam 2018 unseen passage question shall have to be attempted in order to get marks or not is still a mystery.
