The quiz was conceptualised by the Central Board of Secondary Education way back in the year 2001 i.e. sixteen years back. The move by CBSE was taken to create awareness amongst students about the rich culture and heritage that our nation possess via competitive approach, hence the CBSE Inter School Heritage India Quiz 2017 by CBSE was introduced as an annual event inviting applications from various schools to participate in the mega event. Schools and students have to send in their entries to the CBSE board which shall closely examine the maximum number of applicants from a particular region thereby shortlisting some cities as venue for the CBSE Inter School Heritage India Quiz 2017.
