Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will now incorporate chapters in the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) books on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Digital India campaigns that will teach the lesson on demonetization. The inclusion of these chapters, which are all actually initiatives of the ruling BJP government will be implemented in NCERT textbooks from academic session 2018-19.
CBSE NCERT textbooks incorporate govt schemes as chapters
The three of the main and the most important initiative of India’s government initiative Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and demonetization have become the most talked about and world renowned subjects. These subjects are studied and taught as academic chapters at renowned business schools, law colleges and at primary level schools too.
In the past also, NCERT has made several changes in the syllabus and the content of its textbooks on the advice of the union government. Currently, NCERT is updating the textbooks of mathematics for primary classes and is incorporating images of new currency notes introduced in India after the demonetization scheme that began last year on November 8. The books will also incorporate, Goods and Service Tax (GST) for the textbooks of class 10th economics subject under the title- ‘Understanding Economic Development’.

Apart from these, PM Narendra Modi’s campaign of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao will also be taught as a chapter in the subject of Social Sciences. The subjects textbooks will also have a new chapter on Digital India campaign and will teach students of what all steps were taken to make India go digital with more use of digital wallets, online payments, the rise in e- commerce and much more. Also, NCERT books in CBSE schools will teach students about Right to Information Act and other constitutional rights. Off lately, NCERT had made the major changes in its political science textbooks by illustrating six cartoons representing protests in Parliament in the year 2012 in the four books of Classes IX, X, XI, and XII.
