CBSE Scraps 6 Courses Including English For Class 10th & 12th Board Exams from 2018-19 Session

CBSE has decided to discontinue six courses from the current academic session of 2018-19 from Class 10th & 12th. With recent ongoing CBSE Class 10th & 12th board exams 2018 in March, the education board has released an official circular for the same. Scrapping the presence of six courses including English course from Class 10th & 12th curriculum, CBSE released the circular on March 9, 2018 this year.

Dropping six courses from the examination scheme itself, Central Board of Secondary Education has done the same with immediate effect from this year on. To know more and details about the subjects discontinued by the board, read on.

Central Board of Secondary Education has recently modified the entire curriculum for Class 10th & 12th students this year. Introducing major changes in an abrupt manner, the same are being levied by the education board from the current academic session. The board has removed English Elective from Class 12th CBSE syllabus and English Communicative from Class 10th curriculum.

Apart from these two, CBSE has scrapped four more subjects from its curriculum. The other four subjects include Information and Communication Technology i.e. ICT,  ePublishing, eOffice and Multimedia and Web Technology and Dance Mohiniyattam.

CBSE Introduces New Subjects In Class 10th & 12th Curriculum

CBSE has modified a few subjects as per the requirements in Class 10th & 12th curriculum. The education board has also re-named many other subjects. For instance, Sanskrit Communicative as a language subject has been re-christened as Sanskrit for students as prescribed by NCERT.

CBSE has introduced many more changes like these in various other subjects. CBSE has modified the entire curriculum for Class 10th & 12th. While some subjects have been modified, others re-named to as many as six of them being scrapped.

Apart from this the Central Board of Secondary Education has also merged academic and vocational courses for these batches. For now, Class IX and XI students this year shall conform to the old curriculum only. CBSE board exams 2020 shall reflect the effect of these changes.
