Chandigarh | 2 Drunk Women Jump Traffic Signal & Then Tear Traffic Cop’s Uniform

Chandigarh women have again proved that they no less when it comes to getting in an argument or a fight. But this fight between two Chandigarh women and a traffic cop might cost the women at least 2-3 years jail.

Two women, residents of SAS Nagar were arrested for assaulting a traffic policeman. The women are in their 20s and were arrested for tearing a traffic cop’s uniform. The incident happened on Monday when the two women jumped a traffic signal in Sector 43 Chandigarh.

Women Arrested For Tearing Cop’s Uniform In Chandigarh 

Out of the two women, a 29-year old woman jumped the traffic signal at Sector 43 Chandigarh traffic lights and later did not stop even after the traffic cop signalled her. The cops chased the women who were in a Maruti Suzuki Swift car. The cops managed to catch them as the woman driver of the Maruti Suzuki Swift car got stuck in a traffic jam behind the district court in Sector 43 Chandigarh.

The police have not disclosed the identity of the women.

How The Incident Happened 

After Chandigarh police caught the woman driver, she started arguing with the cops and created a scene at the spot. Later, the woman smashed a beer bottle on her own head which she was carrying in her car.

The woman was got so annoyed and frustrated that she went on to tear the traffic cop’s uniform. The incident happened at around 6:45 pm on Monday, the women were not arrested that time at night.

As per sources, the SHO said that both of them misbehaved with the traffic cop and were drunk. One of them smashed a beer bottle on her head. The cops were lucky that the women got stuck in a traffic jam and they managed to catch them. He said that one of the cops has recorded a video of the incident which happened on the road in Chandigarh.

Both the women have been arrested on Tuesday afternoon from the main gate of sector 43 Chandigarh bus stand. They both have been bailed out by the court, a case has been registered against them under Sections 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) of the Indian Penal Code. The women might land in a trouble as section 332 has a maximum punishment of 3-year jail and section 333 has a maximum punishment of 2-year jail.
