Air India to Start Chandigarh- Bangkok Flights From October 29

All the people of Chandigarh who are planning a vacation in Thailand this Christmas or New Year can make merry. Reason being, Air India has announced to start its four flights in a week from Chandigarh to Bangkok from October 29. The airline announced the commencement of aircraft operation on the Chandigarh Bangkok route while submitting an affidavit to the High Court. Air India will fly with a new ‘A-320 Neo’ aircraft from the newly built Chandigarh International Airport.

Air India, a national carrier of India will begin its operation three months from now with at least 4 flights taking off to Bangkok from Chandigarh in a week. Thailand is one hot international tourist destination, which is thronged by a maximum of people from Chandigarh and Punjab. The cheap airfare, the economical hotel stay and visa on arrival make Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Krabi and Phi Phi are the most visited places in Thailand. Air India flight that will start between Chandigarh and Bangkok will be a 7 to 9 hours flight connected via Delhi or Mumbai. Though the airline, Air India has not officially announced the timings of the flight the authorities at the Chandigarh International Airport are speculating it to be a morning flight that will reach Bangkok by evening.

While announcing the commencement of Chandigarh Bangkok flight from October 29, Air India did not mention the airfare but it is likely to be between Rs 25000 to Rs 35000 approximately. And the best part of all the Air India flights for domestic and international destinations serves free meals to their passengers.

Chandigarh is already connected to international destinations like Dubai and Sharjah while Bangkok flights will be an add on to the passengers who often fly to Thailand for either leisure or for work. If the work of resurfacing of the existing runway at Chandigarh International Airport gets finished on time along with the increased night watch hours, Air India will think on doubling its number of flights internationally. As of now, Air India is also planning to start a direct flight between Chandigarh and Singapore but the date isn’t finalized yet.
