Chandigarh-Delhi Highway to become First Electrified NH In India | Check More Details

Chandigarh- Delhi National Highway is all set to become India’s first fully electrified highways soon. National Highway in between Chandigarh to Delhi will soon get Solar-based Electric Vehicle Chargers. Recently it has been reported that the Government has been planning to install Solar-based Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in Chandigarh-Delhi Highway. Soon the planning will be implemented on road.

Reports have been out that State-owned Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited is all set to implement the plan of SEVC on roads. Soon, Chandigarh-Delhi Highway will be the first highway to be called as fully electrified in India. Check out more details regarding the same below.

Chandigarh- Delhi Highway: BHEL to set up SEVC Soon

Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited has been authorised to soon set up SEVC on the National Highway in between Chandigarh- Delhi. BHEL will be handling the manufacturing, designing, engineering, supply and installation of the charging stations. Also, these Solar Electric Charging Stations along the highway will be connected to a central monitoring system.

These Electric Vehicle Charging Stations will also be integrated with Solar plants at the rooftop to meet up the electricity consumption. Whereas the energy generated from the same will be used to charge the vehicles at the charging stations. Further, it has been out that, these Charging stations will be installed in regular intervals in 250 km stretch in the Chandigarh- Delhi National Highway. Also, the project will be covered by the Department of Heavy Industries FAME (Faster Adaption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles in India).

Chandigarh-Delhi Highway will soon the first Highway in India to get complete Electrified. The aim of the Government is to promote electric vehicle and allow them to travel intercity without any hesitation. Even the use of electric vehicle decrease the level of air pollution and reduce the dependency on the fuel.

Although as of now, it has been cleared whether these charging stations will be paid or not. Once the same will be installed on NH, the company will announce further details regarding the Chandigarh-Delhi Highway Solar-based Electric Vehicle Charging Station
