In an attempt to serve city residents with good medical facilities and decrease the rush at PGI, GMCH 32 and GMSH 16, a new government civil hospital has come up in Sector 45. This new hospital is a 50 bedded hospital and will have facilities of an X-Ray machine, labour room, eye clinic, ENT services and an emergency. The hospital has been built at a cost of Rs. 15 Crore.
The new civil hospital in Sector 45 of Chandigarh was inaugurated by UT Advisor Vijay Kumar Dev in the presence of Anurag Aggarwal, Home Secretary cum health Secretary. Dr, V K Gagneja Director health Services, Mukesh Anand, Chief Engineer and Kriti Garg, SDM South.
While inaugurating the government civil hospital in sector 45, officials said that we’ll try to provide all major facilities that are being provided at PGI or GMCH 32. This hospital will be at par with other government hospitals of the city. A total of 50 beds have been en marked for the hospital where patients would be treated after being admitted to the hospital. It was also stated that the online facilities would soon start at Civil Hospital 45 for OPD.
Government Civil Hospital, Sector 45 Chandigarh will cater to more than 2 lakh people in the southern parts of the city. All major government hospitals of Chandigarh are in northern part. Civil Hospital 45 will have an 24 hour emergency and a special dedicated mother and child care unit.
The hospital was earlier just a poly clinic but new building has been built in order to upgrade the sector 45 polyclinic into a full grade hospital – now known as Civil Hospital, Sector 45. 2 more hospitals have been planned for the city. One would come up in Sector 48 and another one in Maloya.
