Chandigarh Golf Club Elects a New President | It’s Ravibir Singh Grewal

Chandigarh Golf Club was started in the year 1962. Chandigarh Golf Club is located just south of the famous Sukhna Lake and also adjacent to the Punjab Governor’s residence in Sector 6 Chandigarh.

Chandigarh Golf Club’s New President

Ravibir Singh Grewal has been elected has the president of Chandigarh Golf Club (CGC) on Monday. He has been elected as Chandigarh Golf Club’s president for a one-year term (2017-18).

Ravibir Singh Grewal, the president of CGC took over the management last year after the sudden demise of IPS Mann, the ex-president of Chandigarh Golf Club. Mr. Grewal has retained the top post by defeating Ravinder Singh Virk by 94 votes. It is expected that the list of the 11-member executive committee will be out today evening.

The Chandigarh Golf Club elections are one of the most talked about event in Chandigarh. This is because of the elite tag which Chandigarh Golf Club has in the city and also has about 1800 eligible voters. 1,137 members cast vote on the Chandigarh Golf Club’s election day.

The Chandigarh Golf Club is one of the most reputed and elite clubs in Chandigarh. The club has produced a lot of national golfers as well as international golfers. Some of them are Arjuna awardees Harmeet Kahlon and Jeev Milkha Singh.

Chandigarh Golf Club is the only golf club in North India having floodlit 9 hole course and also a floodlit driving range which is also known as Cradle Of Indian Golf. The Chandigarh Golf Club has one of the longest par-5s in India, the seventh hole (613 yards).
